Creating a new page

Updated over 11 months ago

Follow these steps to create a new page in Basker:

1. Click ‘Create New’

On the Pages screen, click the ‘Create New’ button to start creating a new page.

2. Add a Title

Give your page a title. This is required and will appear as the primary heading and in your site navigation.

3. (Optional) Add a Description

You can add an optional description for your page. This helps you identify the page later and provides Basker with useful context for generating SEO data.

4. Configure the URL Slug

Basker will automatically generate a URL slug based on the title of your page. If you need to customise it, check the box to enable editing and input your desired slug. Keep in mind:

• The slug must be unique within the page’s location in the site structure.

5. Add a Main Image

You can upload a main image to associate with the page. Depending on your theme setup, this image may display to end users on the website or be used in connected applications via API integrations.

6. Determine the Parent Page

Specify the Parent Page to place your new page within the site structure. This determines its position in the navigation hierarchy. If you’re unsure, you can always edit this later using the page tree view in Basker.

7. Select a Template

Choose a template for the page. The available templates are determined by the theme selected within Basker. Templates define the layout and structure of the page.

8. Save as Draft

We recommend saving your new page as a draft before adding content. This ensures your changes are preserved, and you can return later to finalise the page before publishing.
